Capturing the essence of a family through my lens is always a remarkable experience, but when that family also happens to be a group of people I have known all of my life, the magic intensifies. As a photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing the genuine bonds, the shared laughter, and the profound love that exists within these relationships.
I have known these women all of my life. Jodi (the youngest sibling) is one of my best friends. She graduated a year before but we have always been close friends. Our moms worked together for a while and our dads use to play softball together. Needless to say, growing up in a small town made it very simple on choosing your friends. But I will say, having a friend for 28+ years is a blessing that I know not many people get to experience. So when Jodi reached out to book a session for her family of beauties, I was absolutely ecstatic!!
Documenting the dynamics of a family that I hold close to my heart brings a unique blend of joy and responsibility. I am familiar with their quirks, inside jokes, and the nuances that make their connections special. This knowledge allows me to anticipate and capture the candid moments, the unguarded smiles, and the unspoken gestures that reveal the true essence of their relationships. The result is a collection of photographs that not only portray their external beauty but also reflect the depth of their love and the strength of their bond.
As a photographer, my role goes beyond capturing beautiful images; it is about encapsulating emotions, connections, and the intangible essence of love. When those subjects are also cherished friends, the experience becomes even more profound.
